CYD congratulates the Class of 2022!
Students from our partner schools celebrated their choices for college and other postsecondary opportunities on Decision Day!
Students at City-As-School participated this year in a coding internship pilot led by The Code that provided instruction in computer languages and web design and offers a paid summer internship.
More than 125 young people got their high school diplomas from our transfer high schools last week.
We asked nine students what they are most looking forward to this summer. Their answers ranged from unwinding to traveling to going back to school.
As the school year comes to an end, CYD college and career advisors are there to help seniors finalize their plans for life after high school, whether that’s for college, job training, or employment. Our goal is for all graduates to leave with a workable, thoughtful postsecondary plan.
CYD provides college and career services at our partner school, City-As-School, located in the West Village. CAS serves students ages 17-21 in an experiential learning environment. “A typical CAS student is incredibly hopeful, resilient, strong, and creative,” says Carolina Moquete. “The school serves some of the most interesting youth in NYC.”
Six MCNDHS/CDI alumni came back to school last month to speak with current students. They gave pointers on college, covering everything from choosing the right professors to time management.
City-As-School is kicking off 2020 with “Queer New Year,” a two week long celebration in support of its LGBTQIA student population.
Over 45 languages from all over the world are spoken across our four sites, which serve student populations as ethnically and linguistically diverse as New York City itself. In the halls of our schools, you’ll hear English, Spanish, French, Arabic, Bengali Wolof, Cantonese, Haitian Creole, Sinhalese, Twi and Farsi – just to name a few.
