Six MCNDHS/CDI alumni came back to school last month to speak with current students. They gave pointers on college, covering everything from choosing the right professors to time management.
City-As-School is kicking off 2020 with “Queer New Year,” a two week long celebration in support of its LGBTQIA student population.
Over 45 languages from all over the world are spoken across our four sites, which serve student populations as ethnically and linguistically diverse as New York City itself. In the halls of our schools, you’ll hear English, Spanish, French, Arabic, Bengali Wolof, Cantonese, Haitian Creole, Sinhalese, Twi and Farsi – just to name a few.
CDI is ushering in the fall with a wide range of post-secondary options for students! Our annual College and Career Fairs host up to 400 students, parents, and alumni.
CDI is committed to exposing students to a range of options for life after high school. It’s critical that we offer career exposure and preparation in tandem with college preparation services, because a traditional college pathway immediately following high school is not the only or best path for all young people.
Just because the long, lazy summer days have rolled around, doesn’t mean the action stops at CDI! Summer school and other college prep programs are running full speed ahead at our partner schools, including Summer Bridge Programs for incoming freshmen to College Prep and English Communication Classes for rising seniors.
On May 1st over 400 students from CDI’s three partner schools joined seniors across New York City in committing to a future in higher education, during Decision Day – NYC Public Schools’ annual citywide celebration in honor of the City’s college-bound high school seniors.
CDI and our partner school City-As-School (CAS), a New York City public transfer high school, are working together to prepare our students for life after high school with hands-on experiences. CAS serves older, under-credited students who spend half their week in the classroom and the other half in internships across the city.
