CYD’s partnership with Goldman Sachs is truly worthy of celebration: 30 years of Board service, volunteering, events, and critical support through Goldman Sachs Gives. Goldman Sachs employees on our Board have been instrumental to CYD’s growth over the past three decades: David Bolotsky was a volunteer at Manhattan Comprehensive Night & Day School who helped found CYD; Michael Koester helped shepherd CYD through our expansion to two additional partner schools and the CYD Career Academy; Dean Backer, now Co-Chair of the Board Development Committee, spearheaded Goldman Sachs’ hosting of CYD Youth Perspectives forums and came up with the idea of a Spelling Bee for Grownups fundraiser, which has become an annual event; and Ramey Watkins has organized corporate volunteer events that give students opportunities for job exploration, practice interviews, résumé review, and more. Through Goldman Sachs Gives, employees have made vital contributions to CYD throughout our history, and many have competed in our Spelling Bees and volunteered with CYD students. We are so grateful for this essential partnership, and we are proud to be honoring it as we celebrate CYD’s 30th Anniversary.
