Post Graduation Plan: I want to go to college and get my Bachelor’s in Social Work. I have a list of CUNY and SUNY schools that I’m applying to right now with my CYD advisor, Hadyiah.
How CYD Helped: Hadyiah helped me figure out what I wanted to do after graduation. Before speaking to her, I didn’t want to go to college. She helped me research schools that had programs I was interested in, and she helped me with applying to EOP and other financial aid programs. I am also in CYD’s Women’s Leadership Group, where we learn how to better ourselves as young women.
Why Social Work: I feel like I’m good at speaking to people and hearing their problems. I was looking into working in the correctional field, so I can help incarcerated people access resources that can better their lives.
Dream: I want to have a good life, probably living outside of New York. I would like to move to Atlanta or somewhere else far for a new experience. I’ll have my 2 bulldogs and my cat, Pinky, with me!
