Helping 16 to 24 year-olds navigate a post-COVID economy: Promising practices from CYD’s Career Academy

Comprehensive Youth Development has had a successful youth workforce training partnership with Borough of Manhattan Community College’s Center for Continuing Education and Workforce Development since 2015. Through this partnership, located at BMCC, more than 250 young people have completed healthcare certificate training, and 60% have gone on to employment in the medical field. The promising practices learned from this CBO-Community college partnership model offer insights for other organizations to design programs for young people that could be integrated into high school and/or offered at the postsecondary level. These lessons are critical as we look to prepare young adults to meet the training and employment challenges of a potentially permanently changed employment landscape during and post-COVID.

Your dollars make a difference!

Without the support of each and every one of our individual donors, the stories you read about and the programs that make an impact in the lives of our young people would not be possible. Thank you!
