CYD’s Summer College Prep program at HPHS is a free, intensive 2-week program that prepares rising seniors to apply for college in the fall. This year it was also an opportunity to broaden our community and bring in volunteers to enhance this work. The program was kicked off by Rachel Potts, the Director of Student Services at AtomicMind, who met with the students and outlined the steps to writing an essay that will captivate an admissions officer. The following week, CYD volunteers came in to review each student’s essay with them and offer an outside perspective. The students are eager to tackle their second drafts!
