On May 1st over 400 students from CDI’s three partner schools joined seniors across New York City in committing to a future in higher education, during Decision Day – NYC Public Schools’ annual citywide celebration in honor of the City’s college-bound high school seniors.
Noah Sorensen, class of 2018 at City-As-School, is now in his second semester at SUNY Delhi majoring in Residential Construction. In the Delhi program his time is split between the classroom and the job site where he’s learning how to build a house from the ground up.
CDI and our partner school City-As-School (CAS), a New York City public transfer high school, are working together to prepare our students for life after high school with hands-on experiences. CAS serves older, under-credited students who spend half their week in the classroom and the other half in internships across the city.
Congratulations to Salimata Dansoko and Jovana Bijelic from the High School for Health Professions and Human Services who have been awarded full four-year scholarships to college through the Posse Foundation.
