Nathan Bond

Artist / Educator / Advocate

Nathan Bond understands the hard work that goes into supporting yourself during college, an experience he shares with CYD’s students: “I worked 40-plus hours a week on top of my full-time studies, which made me keenly aware of the extra demands and challenges students from underserved communities face.” Nathan met Board Chair SoVonna Day-Goins at a conference on Web3. “This led to us having a long conversation about CYD and I simply asked, ‘How can I help?’ It turns out, joining the board was the answer.” He is excited by “all of the career planning and training that CYD provides the students,” and is eager to share the perspective he has acquired through a diverse career path: Nathan is an internationally exhibited artist and was an art professor at Parsons School of Design for 16 years, where he mentored and funded a scholarship for students from lower-income urban communities; he created a blockchain education mentorship program; and he recently launched a children’s book publishing company, Fair Share Publishing. He says, “I am excited to see how my eclectic background and experiences can bring new ideas and perspectives to CYD’s board.”
