Melissa Wengroff Spencer

Managing Director, Global Alternative Investments Fund Structuring
J.P. Morgan

As a native New Yorker, product of the NYC public school system, and public school parent, Melissa Wengroff Spencer is very excited to be part of the CYD Board. Her introduction to CYD came through a colleague, Board Member Jessica Phillips. Melissa was drawn to CYD because it’s a “grassroots organization and has tangible results that you can see with each new graduating class.”

Melissa is a Managing Director within the Alternative Investments Group at the J.P. Morgan Private Bank, where she is responsible for leading and managing the complex process of structuring a diverse array of fund investments across the private equity, hedge fund and real asset space. She has helped successfully introduce private equity and hedge funds sponsored by some of the largest and most recognized global firms to J.P. Morgan’s private clients. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan in 2013, she spent three years at Credit Suisse Asset Management in their legal and compliance department. Melissa received a B.A. in Political Science and Economics from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School. Melissa lives in Harlem with her husband and two sons. As a Board Member, she is looking forward to “getting to work with students and furthering CYD’s mission.”
