Kermitt Brooks identifies deeply with CYD’s mission. “CYD creates an additional layer of community and a safety net for its students. I see so much of my own journey in the students CYD serves, and I’m truly honored to be part of this work.” Brooks leads legal, compliance, corporate governance, and government affairs for Guardian, and brings insight from extensive experience in the private and public sectors of the insurance industry.
He appreciates the power of education “to shape lives and open doors,” and the importance of helping students prepare for their next steps after graduating: “I’m most passionate about the support CYD provides throughout high school that allows students to focus on their education and plan for their futures.” His strong belief in the importance of education “is what led me to CYD, and it will continue to guide me as a board member.
