We serve 2,500 students each year:
- 85% are eligible for free lunch
- Most will be the first in their families to pursue education after high school
- All come from the highest-need communities in New York City
- 60% speak one of 50 languages other than English at home

We help our students achieve real milestones: 98% of CYD graduating seniors leave high school with an actionable post-secondary plan — whether that’s college, vocational training, or immediate employment.
CYD provides comprehensive support: academic advising, college and career counseling, life-skills classes, mental health and peer counseling, English-language support for newcomer students, and career-connected training — including paths into healthcare through our Career Academy.
