Introducing CYD Round-Ups!
Comprehensive Youth Development is launching a new way to support our mission – donate your small change to CYD by rounding up to the next dollar when you make a purchase with your credit or debit card. It’s a simple and effective way to turn small change into big change.
Does small change really make a difference?
Yes! The pennies, dimes, nickels, and quarters add up. Our goal is to enroll 100 people in round-ups this year. If they all set a cap of $20/month, CYD would receive $24,000 at the end of the year. This amount will go directly toward providing services for NYC’s high-need young people aged 14-24.
How It Works:

Enroll with any card you use for regular purchases. Enrollment is easy and secure.
Set Your Monthly Giving
You control how much you want to give each month by setting a monthly limit, such as $20. You can adjust this amount up or down anytime you want. The monthly minimum is $9.99. The maximum is up to you!
Your Giving is Secure
Round-Up transactions are processed monthly through Plaid. Plaid operates across the US and Canada, providing secure data connections to over 15,000 banks and over 200 million consumers.
Make a Difference with Every Swipe
Every purchase you make on your card will automatically be rounded up to the nearest dollar until you hit the maximum you’ve set. At the end of each month, your round-up total is charged to your card and donated to CYD. You will receive a notice of the amount you’ve given each month, and it’s fully tax-deductible.

How does rounding up work?
The Round-Up program rounds up your purchases to the nearest dollar. For example, if your purchase
total is $47.76, your purchase will be rounded up to $48.00. CYD will receive 24 cents.
Will I see the round-up amount on my receipts at the store?
No. You won’t see the round-up on your receipt, and the store doesn’t see it either. You’ll receive a summary at the end of each month when your card is charged.
Will my credit card number or bill be visible to CYD?
No. What we see is below – just the total amount you’ve rounded up each month.
How do I know how much I’m giving each month?
When you enroll in the program, you set a monthly cap on how much you want to round up to CYD, such as $20/month. So regardless of how much you use your card during the month, once your pre-determined cap of $20 is reached, the rounding up will stop.
What if I don’t reach my maximum?
If your round-ups don’t reach the maximum in any month, you will be charged the exact amount your expenditures have brought in. For example, if your roundups during the month total $17.38, that’s the amount you’ll pay. If you’ve had no expenditures on your card in any month, you will be charged the minimum of $9.99.
Are these donations tax-deductible?
Yes, your roundups are completely tax-deductible. You will receive a tax donation letter at the end of the calendar year with a summary of your round-up gifts over the year.
What if I want to change details of my round-up?
When you register for round-ups, you’ll create a username and password. You can log in with those at any time to modify or cancel your registration.
