Key Staff Bios

Michael A. Roberts

Michael A. Roberts, MSW, Executive Director, joined CYD in 2013 as Assistant Executive Director and became ED in January 2016. He is considered one of New York City’s top leaders in youth development. Before he was at CYD, he spent a decade at the Children’s Aid Society, where he was the Assistant Division Director for City and County Branches, one of the agency’s largest divisions. Prior to that he was at Safe Horizons for 10 years. Michael has worked at the federal, state, and local levels to develop strategies, programs, and outcomes to help young people to become successful leaders in their homes, schools, and communities while building the skills needed to compete and succeed in the 21st century. He has presented and trained at conferences around the country. He has a Master’s of Social Work from the Hunter College School of Social Work and is a graduate of Columbia University’s Business School, Senior Leaders Program.

Margaret Aylward

Margaret Aylward

Margaret Aylward, LMSW, Assistant Executive Director, has been at CYD since 2005. Previously, she was Program Director of Employment Services at Pius XII Youth & Family Services. She has an extensive background in social services: dropout prevention; out-of-school youth; diploma and GED programs; work readiness, job training, and placement efforts; mental health services, crisis intervention, and anger management; and individual and family counseling, with a focus on teen topics such as teen parenting. She earned her LMSW at Columbia University School of Social Work.

Megan Campbell

Megan Campbell, Director of Development

Megan Campbell, Director of Development, joined CYD in 2024. She has deep experience as a leader in nonprofit organizations, where she has primarily led development efforts for direct service organizations. She came to CYD from the Harlem Educational Activities Fund (HEAF), where she served as the Chief Development and External Relations Officer, focusing on building the organization’s major donor program and increasing institutional funding. Prior to that, Megan held leadership positions at nourish.NJ and Hour Children. She holds a Master of Public Administration from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service, a JD from Cornell Law School, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the College of the Holy Cross.

Camille Fleming

Camille Fleming

Camille Fleming, Controller, joined CYD in 2019 and oversees its finance and human resources functions. She previously worked in finance and HR at Rudolf Steiner School, The Ideal School of Manhattan, and International Leadership Charter School. Camille has extensive experience in the areas of general and grant accounting, financial analysis and reporting, budgeting, and internal control compliance and monitoring. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the State University of New York College at Old Westbury and received an MBA in Economic and Crime Management from Utica College.

Terry Carroll

Terry Carroll

Terry Carroll, Director of Workforce, joined CYD in 2021 and oversees the organization’s workforce development programs. Prior to joining CYD, he was National Program Officer of workforce development at Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), managing the development, implementation, and evaluation of skills-based training programs across the U.S. Prior to LISC, he worked at the New York City Department of Small Business Services, where he managed the relationship between the City and Workforce1 Career Center vendor partners. Terry has extensive experience in workforce development program management as well as data-informed technical assistance and employer partnerships. He holds a Master’s of Public Administration from Columbia University.

Forrest Buckman

Forrest Buckman

Forrest Buckman, Director of Data Development, joined CYD in 2011 and oversees all aspects of CYD’s data collection and management. Previously he worked in data management for non- profits including Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Cancer Care, and New York Philharmonic. His area of expertise is designing modular data and information management systems that fit the budget and needs of an organization. Forrest also provides data analysis for the CYD network, as well as program and system reporting for quality assurance and contract compliance.
