It was CYD’s annual Spelling Bee for Grownups fundraiser that ignited Tyler Duff’s enthusiasm. “In 2018, I joined the Credit Suisse team at the event. I was struck by the joy and excitement on the students’ faces when it was their turn to get up in front of a group of strangers and spell their word. From there, I made it a point to put any and all CYD events on my calendar.” He has found the same enthusiasm at our sites: “All members, from the staff to the students to volunteers, are enthusiastic and dedicated to the mission of CYD, and willing to do whatever it takes to provide students with the tools, mentorship, and training to succeed.” Tyler shares with our students “a drive and eagerness in the pursuit of education, whether in a traditional academic sense, in acquiring new skills and learning how to solve problems, or in the sense of personal growth and self-understanding.” He appreciates the way CYD “acknowledges that in the current changing landscape, postsecondary success can be found along a variety of different paths. It is crucial that students are given the means to find their respective paths and be prepared for all that lies ahead.”
