Maggie McLean Suniewick

Maggie McLean Suniewick has a passion for youth development, with a specific focus on “the mental health challenges facing so many youth today,” and appreciates CYD’s ability to work with students comprehensively: “I love that CYD supports students through the tactical needs of a college search or a job search but also takes the time to know the student and provide community and emotional support, which can be invaluable to students during these years and beyond.” A media and technology executive with 20+ years leading the entertainment industry into the digital and streaming world, she spent 16 years at Comcast/NBCUniversal leading digital distribution and most recently was at Twitter leading global business development and partnerships.
CYD Board Member Michael Braun introduced Maggie to CYD, knowing of her volunteer work and deep commitment to youth development and mental health. Her passion has its origins close to home: “I have navigated the public school system with my three children and know how difficult it can be. I have a child with dyslexia and I constantly think about what would have happened if we hadn’t had the time and resources to dedicate to supporting him. I love CYD’s approach and wish that more people had access to the type of support they provide. I was blown away by the CYD staff and the connections that they have with the students. There aren’t simple answers to some of the challenges they face on a daily basis and I loved that they took the time and energy to get to the root of the issue and work to solve it. I’m looking forward to digging in and figuring out how I can best support the organization and its work. I like solving hard problems!”
