Ellen Taus felt she had no time to be a CDI Board member, but she was so impressed with “the optimism and resilience of the students and the same of the staff,” that she had to make the role work. She also felt a personal connection to the mission. “I was brought up and always taught that I had to rely on my own ingenuity and industry to make my way in the world.”
Ellen is the CFO of the Rockefeller Foundation. As a Comprehensive Youth Development Board member, “I love to see the staff take such pride in the work and the accomplishments of our students. They are totally invested in them, and it really makes a difference in our schools and in our communities.”
